Hello!
I was wondering what immunizations people need to get for your thailand/laos passes. Specifically if it is necessary to get the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine? Thanks!

Hi there, I will be doing the Full Moon pass in March/April, my question is about visas and getting across from Laos to Cambodia and Vietnam. I have no visas as yet, and have only an overnight stay in Bangkok before the bus leaves. Will I be able to get visas at the borders? Also we wish to go into Vietnam and Cambodia - leaving the Stray bus and then returning - is this easy to do? And do the visas allow more than one entry into the countries? (We hope to go into Vietnam further north and further south also, so would be re-entering Laos at least once, probably more, same for Vietnam). Is it worth changing our pass to the new one which includes Cambodia? If so how much would this cost? (Sorry lots of questions!)
Many thanks

Hi,
what is the best way to carry money throughout thailand and laos? i have read that access to atm's in laos is very limited, and as Houayxai is the first place of arival in laos and being a small place, initially getting lao kip may be difficult. At the moment I am thinking about taking an ATM card as well as some cash in US dollars as a back up would this be appropriate?

Hi, we are arriving in Bangkok 31.03.11 & have booked the Big Wat pass & also the arrival pack which includes transfers from the airport & accommodation. I was just wondering where the accommodation is at? Rambuttri Village Inn looks very nice & I seen it is a recommended place to stay in Bangkok on the Stray website so I was really hoping it was there :)
Thanks

Hi..
I will arrive at Phukets airport 19th december.. The first 2 week I will spend on Koh Phangan for christmas and new years.. After that I'm planing on during the Big Wat pass, my question is about the 30 days tourist visum and is it possible to get another 30 days somehow if I fx visit Vietnam before doing the pass, - or will I still only get the 15 days extented visum?
Do you have any suggestens what I could do because I'm planing on staying in Asia for at least 3 months travelling arround, and therefore would really like to jump on the Big Wat pass after New Years because it is the longeste pass and I got to see a lot more..

Hi there,
Stray is suitable for people on minimum time or for those with more time like yourself as you can get on and off the Stray bus in Laos anywhere on the route, as often as you like, so long as you verify your trip changes online or with our reservations team. You can also hop off at any overnight stops on the rail/unguided sectors in Thailand and Cambodia (but you can't hop on and off between the overnight destinations in these countries).
It's up to you whether you want to explore areas independently or with your group - you can stay with your bus group for parts and then choose to stay longer to explore an area better. Then you just need to book on to the next bus travelling through.
Hope this helps, let me know if you would like any further information.
Thanks,
Stray Asia

I'm looking at doing the Phou Pass/Tom Yum in February, but I have less than 2 weeks to do it.. I was wondering if I decided to hop off the bus in Luang Namtha for trekking and hill tribes, how long would I have to hop off for before i could get the next bus? How regular are the buses? Also how would i go about adding the Long Thaaang tour onto the Phou Pass? Would it be getting off one bus and onto another or would I have to wait around by myself? Sorry lots of questions!

Hi there
Is the road through the mountains from Luang Namtha to Nongkiaw save to drive on in july or august?
A travel agency told me that it can be very dangerous in this months because of movements of the land due to the rain
We think it would be a good part of laos to travel, but want to be save of course

I will be be volunteering in Siem Reap before my Stray trip. Flying between Siem Reap and Bangkok is expensive but I've heard a few scam stories about bus companies doing the trip. Can you recomend a reputable company?
I'm also considering upgrading my TOM Yum pass to a Full Moon Pass. How would I do this?
Many Thanks

i have 22 days in s.e asia and am tossing up doing the tom yum with 2 stopovers (probably luang prabang and luang namtha) OR doing the full moon pass with only one stopover (either luang prabang or luang namtha for trekking) what would you suggest?

Hi- My friend and I are thinking we will enter Laos from Cambodia at Don Det, so we're looking for transportation from Don Det to Vientiane (sometime between December 9 and 13).
-Can we join the Express Ping or the Express Moon at Pakse?
-What would be the cost if we're just doing the Pakse - Vientiane leg of the route?
-If these options work, what are the schedules for the Express Ping and Express Moon, from Pakse to Vientiane?
-Finally, just asking your opinion, is it pretty easy on a given day in Don Det to find transportation from Don Det to Pakse? Is hitchhiking legal?
Great website by the way!! (with the exception being that I couldn't find timetables for the express routes)

Hi,
I am hoping to do the Phone pass starting in Pakse. Is this a round trip -i.e. will I end up back in Pakse?
Is there any chance this pass will be included in the sale soon. I am currently travelling with Stray NZ....does Stray asia work the same in terms of accomodation, i.e. if I stay longer than the obligatory overnight stops in each place am I responsible for booking my own accomodation?
Thanks!
