Hi everyone- I am looking at doing the full moon pass in january after doing some volunteer work in thailand. Just wondering how much i should budget for accommodation per night for the trip? and roughly how much would be spent on food?
Also, if anyone is travelling from bangkok on the full moon pass the first week in january it would be great to hear from you too! This will be first solo trip- a little nervous but super excited!
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to be on the STRAY bus full moon tour mid-November, but was wondering if anyone was going to the 10th Nov full moon party?
Im flying over from NZ by myself, so wont know anyone as full moon party will be before bus tour...
So hit me up if your going to the 10th Nov Full Moon Party, as I'd love some company and not too keen on going by myself!
Or if anyone is jumping on a STRAY bus in Nov would love to hear from you too :)
Thanks

Hi guys,
Our flight gets into Bangkok at 11.15pm and were wondering if someone could reccomend a good place to stay (2 nights) that can accomodate us getting in this late/early in the morning (as it would probably be past midnight one we get through customs)? Also the 2nd night we need to be near the Stray office to meet at 6.45am in the morning.
Perhaps we should stay near the airport the first night and come into the city the 2nd night?

Just wondering exactly how difficult it would be to find vegetarian food throughout the full moon tour? The trip looks amazing but only if I won't starve on it haha!

I saw the White Temple on 1 of the Stray video clips on youtube and now have to see it for real. Is there enough time to see it or would I need to hop off in Chiang Rai?
Can you also advise of any reliable trecking companies based in Nong Khiaw as this looks an intresting place to hop off?
Thanks

Hi
I am booked onto the Dtui Noy pass for September this year. I can see from the timetable that the bus drops off in Vientiane on a Wednesday or Sunday but only picks up on a Thursday. If we arrived on a Sunday we would then have four nights in Vientiane - is that correct? If so, is it possible instead to arrive in Luang Prabang on a Friday and then stay there until the Tuesday (instead of leaving on the Saturday) and then go to Van Vieng on the Tuesday, on to Vientiane on the Wednesday and then leave Vientiane on the Thursday?
Essentially, is it possible to have four nights in Luang Prabang instead of Vientiane?!
Sorry if this is a little confusing!
Thanks

Hi,
I'm booked to do the full moon tour in November this year and wondered if the gibbon experience you can do with stray is just fir one night or the full packages? I'm keen to do it but we can only spend one night here.
Many thanks,

Depending on the season, you’ll be staying at Tad Leuk waterfall camp or Ban Na Elephant Observation Tower. I was wondering if the night is spend on the Observation tower or in the Waterfallcamp (phonepass starting 14th of july in Vientiane). Is it possible to stay in the Camp (or elsewhere) when the rest of the group is staying on the tower?

Hello,
Just booked the Full Moon Pass.
I was doing my research and I noticed that the Boun Khao Padabdin festival would be during my travels, and it seems a great chance to witness some of the local customs. All I can find is a date of the 28th August. Does this festival last more than a day? I thought about fitting the Long Thaang pass that would end in Luang Prabang on that same Sunday. Would I still be able to see some of the festivities (e.g. boat races)? If not, would there be enough to do in Luang Prabang for a week? Are there any local tours you could recommend to see the Plain of Jars and surrounds?
Else, just wondering if there would be potential delays due to poor road conditions during the rainy season (travelling in August), or whether you've factored those into your timetables.
Thanks!

Hi there,
I've just booked in to do the Tom Yum route late September/October - can't wait!!
I wonder if someone could offer some advice on what clothing is best to take. Is a light rain jacket and a warm fleece o.k? or should we bring a heavier jacket?
Also do we need sleeping bags?
Oh and just one last thing... how much (on average) should we budget for food and accomodation?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,
Can you tell me how long the sale prices will be available for. I'd like to do the Full Moon tour in July but don't want to book it too early as I don't want to plan too far in advance.
Thanks (",)

Hello, I am looking to do the Boun Noy pass from Huay Xai to Vientiane in late June/early July and just wanted to double check the timetable because unfortunately my timings are tight! I plan to arrive in Luang Prabang on 24 June and will make my own way to Huay Xai to do the Gibbon Experience. I would then like to leave on the Stray Bus from Huay Xai on Wed 29th June. Please can you confirm that twice weekly buses are still leaving Huay Xai and so whether it will be available for me to continue without getting off the bus down to Vientiane arriving on Sun 3rd July.
Many thanks

Hi,
What is the youngest age you accept to travel on Stray? My kids are 5 and 8. I am a single parent and would want the three of us to share a room. Would that be possible?
Sincerely,
M

Hi, I'm thinking of doing the Full Moon pass in august, and I'd like to know if it would be recomended having Malarone while travelling.
Is it easy to change euros in Laos or it's better having US$ to change?
Thanks

Hi - I'm looking at the Dtui Noy pass for June and have a few questions:
1 - Is it possible to start in Chiang Mai and how much extra would this cost?
2 - So long as I book before 31 March do I still get the current 15% off and free Long Thaang deal (or do you have to travel by 31st) ?
3 - Are timetables over the summer still going to be only 1 bus a week for Long Thaang and Southern Laos ?
Thanks Jenny

Hi, Any chance we could bring bicycles along? We like to cycle tour carrying our own gear in panniers. It would be fun to cycle some and hitch a ride with you from one area to the next.

I was wondering if you advised bringing a mosquito net to sleep under or if the budget end of the hotels you recommend have screens/air con/any other precautions.
Thanks,
