Stray Accommodation

Stray Accommodation

We organise your accommodation for each night on your Stray trip (even in peak season). Prices vary depending on location and season but expect to pay from US$5 for a shared room to US$24 for a twin or double (up to US$60 for top end private rooms in the main cities) and you pay for this direct to the accommodation. Our preferred accommodation is usually in guesthouses – but in some remote stops we have home stay and camping options.

Accommodation Guarantee for all Guided Overnight Stops

The only Stray passes without the accommodation guarantee are those with unguided local transport connections outside Laos:

The Bucket (Koh Phangan, Thailand)
The Temple (Cambodia)
The Cambodia leg of The Big Wat

For all other passes, your guide will reserve and book your accommodation at each overnight stop but the cost is not included in your pass. You are welcome to stay at other accommodation where there are alternatives, however we only reserve beds and do pick ups from our preferred accommodation. The second night is also reserved for Chiang Mai.

You'll need to book your own accommodation at "places of interest" stops along the route if you hop-off between overnight stops (orange dot on map).

You don’t need to bring a sleeping bag but a sleeping bag liner/inner can be good.

For an idea of where we stay and prices at each overnight stop, have a look at the itinerary section of each Stray pass page.

Where does Stray stay?

Please see our accommodation pages for Laos and Thailand. If you are starting a pass in Bangkok please see our page Bangkok Recommended Accommodation and also how to get there from the airport.
